THE Swindon TSB bank has raised £1,932.43 for the Open Door Centre over the last year.

This is the first year that the bank has partnered with the charity, which helps adults with learning disabilities by giving them some independence, fun activities, and a say in how the centre is run.

Dan Cowen, local banker and charity champion at TSB Swindon says: “Our aim was to raise as much funds for this charity as possible and by doing so we set up various fundraising ideas in the branch, like bike events, bake, sweet and card sales, and Easter and Christmas Hamper Draws.

"Many of our partners have been up to the centre volunteering with the members - a colleague and I even redecorated their kitchen.”

The fundraising continues as TSB partners will hike and bike to work every day from this Saturday to Friday September 21, and baking cakes at the branch throughout the week.

Instead of having a centrally chosen charity of the year, partners working at TSB support a local cause that helps the community..

The Open Door Centre is one of over 450 organisations being supported this year.
