ROLL up, roll up!

Circus Vegas has come to town for four days of death-defying daredevil feats and amazing acrobatics in a big-top tent on the Westcott Recreation Ground.

One of several show-stoppers will be the team of stunt motorbike riders looping around each other and experience severe G-force in a centrepiece Globe of Death act.

Also, the Danguir Troupe will show off their skills on the high wire, a strongman will endure the full force of a three-ton truck driving over him, and dancers and quick-change artists will wow the audience.

Each show will be hosted by an American ringmaster and entertainer extraordinaire Edy the Clown.

The circus’ organisers aim to bring the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas shows to Swindon with a mix of extreme stunts and classic clown comedy.

David Fitzgerald is the general manager of the show, which has been held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the first circus.

He said: "It's an incredible milestone.

"The circus is exciting, it's thrilling, it's daring, it's incredible.

"Where else can you see people risking their lives mere metres in front of you?

"This show is like Vegas on wheels.

"We have acts from all over the world who have performed in Las Vegas at some point in their careers.

"It;'s taken two years to bring everything together and find the right mix and balance of performers and acts."

Shows will be performed at 5pm and 7.45pm today and tomorrow, then at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm on Saturday, and 2pm and 5pm on Sunday.

Prices range from £8 to £36 per ticket, with discounts for under-16s, students, disabled guests, over-60s and jobseekers.
