CHILDREN can get face-to-face with farm animals this weekend as the annual Old Town Autumn Fayre returns to Christ Church.
Dave & Ewes Mobile Farm will again pack into the grounds of the Cricklade Street church, together with traditional games like Splat the Rat and musical entertainment from the Bill Bailey Jazz Band and Christ Church’s own Hand Bell Ringers.
Devizes Road café Dotty’s will be serving hot dogs, while wood fired pizza from Falvo’s and cakes by Glamo Rose cakes are also on offer. The Little Box Bar, housed in a converted horse trailer, will return to the fayre for another year.
Volunteers will take visitors up the 46-steps of Christ Church’s tower to see the stunning views over Swindon. Inside the Victorian church, there will be opportunities to try lacemaking and find out more about Swindon’s history.
Old Town Autumn Fayre is at Christ Church, Cricklade Street, on Saturday, September 15, 12pm-4pm. Entrance is free.
