COURT: A Taw Hill man who destroyed a woman’s passport will have to do 160 hours of unpaid work.

Roderick Webb, 57, of Galloway Road, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman, destroying her passport and damaging her mobile phone.

Magistrates told him to do 160 hours of unpaid work and complete 20 rehabilitation days organised by the Probation Service. Webb must pay costs of £170.

COURT: Ricky Wilding, 21, of Leighton Avenue, will stand trial on assault charges and damaging a woman’s sunglasses and jewellery. He was remanded on bail for the trial on November 22. Wilding denies the charges.

SWINDON: A thief who stole a large quantity of meat from the Co-op store at Windbrook Meadow is being sought by police. The products were taken at 12.30pm on September 12.
