TWO of Coventry Building Society’s branches in Wiltshire will focus on financial crime next week and offer members tips on how to avoid falling victim to fraud.

The society’s Highworth branch at 39 High Street will host the local Trading Standards representative all morning on Monday September 24.

Later that week, a local police community support officer will hold a drop-in session at the branch on Wednesday September 26 between 9.30am and 11am.

The Swindon branch of the building society at 41 Regent Circus will be hosting a representative from the local Trading Standards office on Wednesday between 9.30am and 11am.

Staff at the branches and from the society’s financial crime team will be on hand to answer member’s questions and provide information from Take Five.

This is a national campaign which encourages consumers to stop and think before giving their personal or financial information to potential fraudsters.

Emma Cumming, manager at Coventry Building Society’s Swindon and Highworth branches, said: “We take fraud and financial crime extremely seriously.

“We want to help our members feel equipped to spot the signs of fraud and take action to keep their details and their money safe.

“We’re really grateful to both Trading Standards and our local police force for supporting us this week.

“We’d encourage anyone who wants to find out more to stop in and have a chat – we’d be very happy to help”.
