A Hip-Hop mash up called Cypher Stories is coming to Swindon Dance on Friday night.

New dance company, Simple Cypher was built on the foundations of Hip Hop and circus and created by Kieran Warner and Christopher Thomas. It uses elements of Hip Hop culture presented in a cabaret style, featuring acts and short performances by different artists.

A live DJ will accompany the artists on stage, providing a fresh soundtrack to acts ranging from the Cyr wheel and juggling to aerial and street dance. Kieran and Christopher are specialists in Cyr wheel - a single large metal ring which the performer stands inside, making it roll and spin while performing acrobatic moves in and around it.

They also share a passion for hip hop. Style, originality and unity are key fundamentals of hip hop culture and have had a profound influence on the pair’s development as circus performers.

As well as Kieran and Chris, performers will include Dan Martin, Ed Spoons, Emma Houston, Fiona Thornhill and Pacey Holloway. Swindon Dance CAT alumni Kieran Warner and Chris Thomas are recent graduates from the National Centre for Circus Arts. The Swindon Dance CAT is a part-time, pre-vocational training programme giving talented young people from across the south west access to high quality dance training.

Cypher Stories begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7-£11. To book, call 01793 601700 or visit swindondance.org.uk.
