PUNK mavericks The Members are headlining at the Mick Love Memorial Show at the Victoria in Swindon on Saturday night.

The Members emerged from the musical punk revolution of the late 1970s, and their song lyrics merge stories of everyday life with a dynamic musical style. Born in Camberley on the south-west outskirts of London, The Members’ landscapes and concerns link to those of neighbours The Jam and Sham 69, and tap into the rhythms of West London outfits The Ruts and The Lurkers. These five offer a vision of London that is gritty, varied and suburban.

Saturday's line-up also includes Charred Hearts and Ambition Demolition. Charred Hearts is a Swindon band, which has been playing punk music since 1981. The current line-up is Dermot Fuller on vocals, Lee Fellows on guitar, Eamonn Treanor on bass and Sam Fuller on drums.

Originally called The Corpses, they were formed from two bands, The BCGs and Static Annoyers. They became Charred Hearts in 1983, disbanded in 1996, but got back together to perform again five years later. In 2010 they had a headline slot at a punk festival in France, a return appearance at the Rebellion festival and shows across France, Germany and Spain. The following year, they celebrated their 30th anniversary

Fellow punk rockers Ambition Demolition formed in April two years ago with Alan Cattermoul on guitar and vocals, Clive Buff Cooper on bass and vocals and Al Stone on drums. Their first six-track EP, Punk for Life, was recorded at the end of 2016 in true punk DIY style
