COURT: Magistrates imposed a restraining order on Adam Edwards after he pleaded guilty to assaulting another man and using threatening behaviour.

The 29-year-old of Wilkins Close, Queensfield, was instructed by the Swindon bench not to go to an address in Kingshill and not to contact the victim in any way for the next year.

He was also fined a total of £100 and told he must pay another £115 towards victim services and court costs.

COURT: Marcin Nowakowski was banned from getting behind the wheel for 36 months by Swindon magistrates for failing to provide a specimen of breath.

The court heard the defendant, 36, of Colbourne Street, was stopped in Swindon on August 1. He admitted the charge and was fined £200 with £85 prosecution costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

COURT: A woman of 22 was ordered to pay a total of £243 after she admitted driving carelessly in the car wash car park in Paddington Drive.

Katie Vizard, of Linden Avenue, was fined £128 by Swindon magistrates and had three penalty points put on her licence. She was also told to pay £115 towards victim services and prosecution costs.

COURT: A thief who stole almost £500-worth of goods from a supermarket on the same day while he was already on a suspended sentence was jailed for a total of two months.

Julian Smith, also known by the name Elgin, admitted the thefts. Swindon magistrates told him there was no alternative but to imprison him.

The 35-year-old of Brooklands, Brinkworth, also admitted breaching the suspended sentence ordered by Wiltshire magistrates on May 25 for theft and public order offences.
