A VICTIM of a burglary in which thieves stole iMacs worth £15,000 has thanked the business community for their support.

Graeme Leighfield, founder of Swindon-based web and graphics agency GEL studios, issued the emotional thank-you to everyone after thieves targeted his office on Groundwell Industrial Estate in North Swindon.

The thieves forced a window open to get access to the building and took six Mac computers, leaving Graeme to make the grim discovery as he came into work first thing on Wednesday morning.

But after the small business was targeted, clients and business friends came forward to offer their support.

Graeme said: “This has been a devastating blow for me and my team. We’ve got several big projects in production and to lose kit worth at least £15,000 can be disaster for a small business. The impact is personal.

He told the Adver that he had around 20 projects on the go at the moment which the break-in will disrupt.

“However the support we’ve had from clients and business friends has been overwhelming.

"Our posts on social media have been shared hundreds of times to try to bring these thieves to justice.

“We would all like to thank everyone for their understanding and also I’d personally like to thank my team for keeping us on track and focused as we move quickly to deal with this matter.”

Wiltshire Police have issued the CCTV showing the burglary taking place in the hope that the thieves can be brought to justice and equipment.

Unfortunately for the thieves the computers had been upgraded with extra security features which mean anyone won't be able to access them without a password.

GEL studios was named winners of the Web Development Project of the Year for their work on The Lost Cinema in the national 2017 Digital Entrepreneur Awards.
