A NATIONWIDE membership group for leaders of charities and social enterprises is coming to Swindon next month.

Ella Forums, which currently has 18 groups across the country, is a membership-based organisation that meet once a month to share ideas on the sector and hear guest speakers.

Local charity and social enterprise leaders are invited to attend the introductory meeting and see how the group could support them.

The new group will be chaired by experienced trustee and leadership coach Steve Litchfield, each meeting will be between 9.15 am to 2 pm.

Membership Director Phil Thompson said: “Where people bring things to the table that they might need the help their fellow colleagues. It’s to enable people to share knowledge and take part in peer-learning.”

“It’s not a training session, it’s a peer-led development session,” he added.

The first session is complimentary, with full membership requiring a fee. Smaller charities can apply for a bursary.

It will meet on 28 September at the Willows Centre in Old Town, Swindon.

Ella Forums was set up in 2013 by Brian Chernett, the founder of the Academy for Chief Executives, which provides group meetings and speakers for business people. The methods that worked for business leaders in the commercial sector have been adapted to inspire leaders of charities and social enterprises.
