The Matt Monro story at the Wyvern Theatre on Friday night is billed as an inspired and unforgettable show. A tribute to one of Britain's most popular and endearing singers, the show has narration and audio-visuals, as well as hits such as Born Free, Walk Away and Portrait of My Love. Tickets are £26.

The world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra brings a show called The Best of British to the Wyvern Theatre on Sunday. Featuring conductor Hilary Davan Wetton, and mezzo-soprano Marta Fontanals-Simmons, the afternoon concert (3pm start) includes Vaughan Williams' much-loved The Lark Ascending and heroic brass in Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance.

Tribute show The Carpenters Story recreates the songbook that made The Carpenters a pop legend. At the Wyvern Theatre on Saturday, the show features all the Carpenters hit songs, including Close to You, We've Only Just Begun and many more. Tickets are £28.

The Phoenix Players present Dead Man's Hand by Seymour Matthews at the Swindon Arts Centre every night till Saturday, at 7.30pm. At first this thriller seems to be the usual Agatha Christie-type whodunnit, with two couples lured to a remote Italian villa, to be murdered one by one. But as the play proceeds, revelations, twists and turns subvert expectations.

Swindon Film Society presents Indian film Hotel Salvation at the Swindon Arts Centre on Wednesday. It tells the story of a son left with no choice but to embark on a journey to the holy city of Varanasi when faced with his father’s untimely and bizarre demand to go and die there. The film starts at 7.45pm and tickets are £9.

The mysterious figure of Prospero from Shakespeare's play The Tempest leads This Rough Magic at the Swindon Arts Centre on Tuesday at 8pm. A mix of comedy, tragedy and philosophy, the show is performed by actors of Shakespeare Live. Tickets are £11.
