PEWSEY Vale dominated possession and territory to run in six tries in a 36-7 Dorset & Wilts One North triumph over Calne, whose sole score came courtesy of a penalty try in the final moments of the match.

Pewsey were on the scoreboard in the first minute as a Calne clearance kick was collected by full-back Pete Baird who surged forward before lock Olly Spence stormed in from 20 metres, wing Tom Regan converting.

On five minutes, from a lineout, quick ball hit number eight Ben Bowman in the centre field, who crashed through the visitors' defence to touch down.

Despite the loss of centre Will Bowerman to injury, Pewsey scored again just before half-time as Spencer broke free for an unconverted score.

After the break, wing Toni Bloomfield dotted down in the corner, unconverted before Bloomfield caught a clearance kick and beat five defenders to go between the posts, Regan adding the extras.

With five minutes to go, a fine forward move was finished off by flanker Jordan Carpenter, Regan slotting the conversion.

Minety shrugged off injuries and unavailability to comprehensively put hosts Supermarine to the sword 70-17.

The visitors were without half-backs Garin Garland (injury) and Tom McAllister (university) so paired Sam Hughes with Jack Ward at scrum-half and fly-half.

Down to just 16 fit players, they then lost second row Ben Collins to injury early on but Gareth Peirce, in his maiden outing of the season, touched down for the opening try.

Flanker Ben Sellick followed him over a few moments later, Ward converting and then adding a penalty.

Supermarine responded with a converted try but Minety hit back as Sellick touched down again, Ward adding the extras, as he did after sending centre Chris Rule over for the bonus-point score.

In the second half, Sellick completed his hat-trick, Ward converting and although Marine added another converted score, the villagers finished with a flourish, running in five tries in the final quarter.

Centre Jack Howse crossed on the hour mark before Sellick was over for his fourth score.

Howse then drew the defence to send wing Ben Langridge over before full-back Duncan Simpson raced between the posts for the ninth try.

Ward wrapped up the scoring with a converted effort.

Melksham wrapped up a 22-12 triumph at Sutton Benger in what was their third away match on the trot.

The visitors were on the scoreboard after a few minutes with a well-struck penalty from scrum-half Callum Hurn and continued to dominate as fly-half Rory Mulgrew collected the ball and hacked on to score, Hurn adding the extras.

With centres Connor Randall and Callum Gillard defending well, Melksham regained territory and continued pressure from the pack on the line resulted in Alex Cox powering over.

In the closing minutes of the half Jacek Gronkowski timed his run perfectly to intercept a pass and run in to score from 50 metres, Hurn's conversion taking the score out to 22-0.

The tables were turned in the second half as fly-half Ollie Maher finished off a strong run with a try.

Thomas Pinninger then made it three tries from three games, diving over a pile of bodies at a ruck, with Maher's conversion decreasing the gap further.
