A NEW Screwfix store opening up promises to bring four jobs to West Swindon.

The trade tool and hardware retailer has announced it will open the third store on October 11 at the Rushey Platt Industrial Estate.

Chris Broley, Screwfix’s Rushy Platt store manager, is proud of the contribution of the new store: “We’ve created four new jobs and employed people from around the Swindon area.

"Our new team includes people with all different levels of experience, focused on providing superb customer service to meet the needs of our busy trade customers. Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”

Tradespeople and those into DIY are invited to attend the opening and can demonstrate their professional skills in a free-to-enter competition. The winner will receive a 40in smart TV.

“I’m confident we’ve got a great location here in Swindon," added Chris.

"My team and I have already been getting to know local businesses and tradespeople and look forward to working with these hardworking, friendly people.”

There will be a 10 per cent discount on all products on the open day on Thursday at 7am until it closes at 4pm on Sunday.
