MALMESBURY teenager Louis Harvey put in an outstanding performance in the last round of the British Superone Series Karting championship at PFI International to finish second and securing seventh place in the overall standings.

Harvey entered the final round in eighth place after a mechanical issues two laps from the end of the last round saw him denied a podium finish.

The 14 year old put in two blistering performances in heats one and two, finishing seventh and fourth and accumulating enough points to place him fifth on the grid for Final 1.

After being pushed wide in the hairpin early in the race and dropping to 10th, he battled hard to recover only to be smashed off the track on the fastest part of the track and back down to 17th.

Klaassen Motorsport racer Harvey managed to get back up to 14th and when all penalties were added up, he was 10th on the grid for the main final.

An action-packed final race saw the Wiltshire ace steadily work his way through the field to finish second, crossing the line nose to tail with the winner.

Harvey said: "My aim this year was to get a seeded number, a Superone podium and show that the new Klaassen Motorsport ARC chassis was competitive and I have achieved all three.''
