UNCELEBRATED Journey, an ambitious project dreamed up by the High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Nicky Alberry, culminates in a one-off gala performance at the Wyvern Theatre on Saturday.

Using the story of Swindon's Hammerman Poet Alfred Williams to tell the tale of Swindon and Swindon folk, this spectacular performance will feature singers, dancers, musicians, film makers and more, both amateur and professional, with newly commissioned work.

The performance is a celebration of the town's growth, from the time of the Great Western Railway works through to diverse and successful 21st century town of today.

Including new work by Roger May for the Swindon Symphony Orchestra, Helen Ganberg from the Swerve Dance Theatre Company, Divya Kasturi for the South Asian Performing Arts Centre and a new film by Create Studios, this performance is a unique collaboration between Swindon's creative people.

Among the participants are Rachel Gillespie and Ashley Down of Northern Ballet Theatre, Paul Turner and Caroline Dale, and a host of singing groups such as the Swindon Choral Society and the Commonweal School Choir.

Tickets cost £26. To book, call 01793 524481 or visit swindontheatres.co.uk.
