The teenage boss of a county lines drug dealing gang targeting the Parks estate has been jailed for six years.

Bu Samuel Awoyera won’t spend another day behind bars as he is already doing seven-and-a-half years for similar offences committed while on bail.

The 19-year-old used a drugs line he got from his brother after he was jailed in East Anglia, to move the family business to Swindon.

During the seven months he was operating he recruited young runners to operate on the streets and arranged for two local users’ homes to be used for ‘cuckoo’ dealers. Swindon Crown Court heard that about £30,000 heroin and crack cocaine, both of higher purity than normal, were sold to local addicts.

And the SIM cards, which were exclusively for dealing, made and received more than 26,000 calls and 32,000 messages, sending out bulk ads by text and WhatsApp.

Nic Gerasimidis, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court that Awoyera was the ‘principal controller’ of the operation from December 2015 to June 2016.

After starting selling from cars in the town centre they moved on to the estate and recruited youngsters in both London and Swindon to sell for them.

He said he would travel from his home in Hackney on an almost daily basis to reload street dealers and ensure the smooth running of the operation.

Homes of vulnerable users on Netherton Close, Park South, and Gresham Close, Walcot, were used to put up ‘cuckooing’ dealers from the capital.

During the investigation Awoyera, who was still 17, was twice stopped by police and arrested the second time meaning he was on bail for much of the offending.

When he was arrested his home was searched and police found heroin and cutting agent.

Mr Gerasimidis said the SIM, which had been in eight phones during the conspiracy, is thought to have been with the defendant’s brother when he was in jail in Norwich.

Chandra Seakr, defending, said his client had got involved in the drugs world because he was ‘somewhat enthralled’ by his older sibling.

Last month Awoyera was jailed for seven-and-a-half years at Wood Green crown court for a similar county lines matter stretching to Peterborough.

At an earlier hearing other men were sentenced for their roles in the conspiracy to supply drugs, which they all pleaded guilty to. Diwa Limbu, 25, of Netherton Close, Park South, and Daniel Conway, 24, of Gresham Close, Walcot, each, received two years suspended for two years.

Three men from London were also jailed.
