A grenade has been detonated in a controlled explosion near Chiseldon.
Police were alerted after the grenade was found by a member of the public in a field near to Cambrai Road.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire police confirmed: "We received a call just before 5pm on Friday to a report of an unexploded grenade in a field near Chiseldon.
"Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) were called and carried out a controlled explosion at approximately 7.40pm."
The details of the grenade or where it came from have not been released yet.
