A MORTGAGE advisor from Swindon put herself through her paces at the Swindon Half Marathon to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Hannah Clegg, an adviser at the Mortgage Advice Bureau, on Commercial Road, raised £470 for the society and finished the 13.1 mile race around Swindon in 2hrs 44mins.
After completing the challenging course, which goes past Swindon’s Magic Roundabout and other sights around town, Hannah said: “I’m so thrilled to have trained for and taken part in this exciting but challenging race - it was a great day.
“And, of course, it was an excellent chance to raise some much-needed funds to boost vital Alzheimer’s research. It’s a cause that’s very close to my heart.”
Jeremy Morcumb of Mortgage Advice Bureau Swindon echoed Hannah’s words, adding: “We were all really impressed with what Hannah achieved, and were pleased to help with sponsorship.
“She trained really hard for this half-marathon.”
More than 2,000 runners completed the Swindon Half Marathon on September 9, raising a record £118,000 for local charities this year, nearly double the £75,000 generated in the 2017 race.
