MORE than 40 Swindon pug owners took part in charity Pug Dog Welfare and Rescue Association’s 45th anniversary national dog walking day at Lydiard Park.
They raised £125 to go towards helping the charity with covering costs towards veterinary bills – usually this is a nose operation that helps the pooch breathe better.
Just this year alone they have seen 200 pugs handed in to be rehomed.
Stephanie Smith, has been apart of the Swindon branch for four years and is an admin on the Facebook group.
The 65-year-old also helps raise funds by creating clay-shaped pug items, it takes her around two days to make one.
She said: “It was a brilliant day, and it was great to see so many people join in with the event.
