Plans to knock down a single suburban house in Swindon and build three flats and two houses on the land have been changed.

The developer Chris Hulance of the Enterprise centre in Chippenham was given permission for his original plans in 2017, but has now applied to Swindon Borough Council to be allowed to build six semi detached houses instead.

There are two designs of home.

One has two houses attached but with a void through the middle on the ground floor, comprising kitchen and a sitting-dining room. The upper storeys a would be built together, with the void forming a 'tunnel' through the unit.

Based on the previous designs proposed for the site the void in one of the units seems to be to allow car access to the four houses built on the garden of the existing house.

The other four houses would be built as more conventional semi detached houses without the void on the ground floor.

Comments on the revised plans can be made on the council's website using the reference S/18/1569, and should be made by Tuesday October 30.

The matter should be decided by the end of November
