A woman has died following a crash involving a minibus on the M4 yesterday.

The crash happened on Saturday between junction 14 and 15 on the M4 westbound at around 11.30am.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said a minibus carrying 10 people overturned.

A woman died after being airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford while three others received minor injuries and were sent to Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

Investigating officer, PC James Baker of the Joint Roads Policing Unit, said: “This is another tragic incident on our roads, and our thoughts are with all those who have been effected.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information about the collision, whether you witnessed the collision itself or have dashcam footage or the collision. Please come forward so we can establish what happened.

“The easiest way to contact us is by calling 101 and quoting reference number 5151 (13/10).”

The crash caused long delays and tailbacks on the M4 yesterday afternoon.

Highways England said the eastbound carriageway re-opened by around 1pm.

Trapped westbound traffic was released past the scene by 2.45 but the carriageway remained shut until 4.30.
