WASDELL has appointed a former intern as a senior tech specialist after he spent a year with the form before graduating from UWE this year.

During his year-long placement at Wasdell, a pharmaceutical packaging firm based in Blagrove, Stephen Cox developed a number of automated applications and a security programme to monitor access to Wasell's warehouses.

Stephen said: “Completing my year in industry at Wasdell gave me a deeper insight into different areas of business and how IT can be used to improve efficiency and support production.

“I will continue working on the systems I have already been part of designing, as well as creating more to help prepare the business as it grows.”

Martin Tedham, CEO of Wasdell, said: “In order to remain competitive and able to invest in the advances needed to stay at the forefront of the pharmaceutical industry we need to ensure that our systems are working as hard as they can.

“By automating the scheduling and supporting the sales team we can reduce unnecessary delays, which means that our production teams can fulfil orders to support our continued growth.”
