Two people arrested in connection with the murder of Darren Carley have been released.

A 50-year-old man from Gloucester and 36-year-old woman from Worcester were arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder.

Police now say both have been released under investigation while they make further enquiries.

Detectives are investigating the murder of Swindon man Darren Carley, who was 24 at the time, after he disappeared from his home on Lyndhurst Crescent, Park North, in January 2002.

Human remains were discovered six months later on farmland near Chorley, a market town in Lancashire, in July 2002.

Advances in DNA anlysis allowed police to identify the remains as belonging to Darren, starting a murder investigation to find his killers earlier this month.

Anyone with information should call 101, or ask for Lancashire Police and quote log number 456 of October 4 or independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
