HOSPICE nurses have moved to a new Swindon base.

The Jessie May nurses provide hospice and at-home care to terminally ill children in Wiltshire.

Nurses working for the Bristol-based hospice charity were previously based on the road or out of temporary offices in Swindon town centre. The new offices near Junction 16 give them and the charity’s fundraising staff a brand new base.

Debbie Clark, Swindon and Wiltshire fundraising officer for Jessie May, said: “This is brilliant for our Swindon and Wiltshire Nurses who can use the office when they’re not in families’ homes, and also gives me a wonderful base to meet with supporters, old and new, and organise various fundraising events in and around Swindon and Wiltshire.

“We have access to some brilliant meeting rooms here so please do get in touch if you would like to speak about Jessie May and the incredible work of our nurses locally.

“Our amazing specialist nurses are now all moved in, so together as a team we can continue to provide nursing care to local, life limited children, and support to their families.”

Jessie May offers respite care, emotional support, end of life care and bereavement support to families caring for a terminally-ill child. Nurses spend much of their time supporting families in the their own homes.

The new offices on the Lydiard Field Business Park, near Junction 16 of the M4, have been provided by firm Rombourne.

Fundraising officer Debbie thanked the company: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Rombourne for giving us a new home and helping us settle in so quickly. We already feel right at home.”

Danielle Mottram, centre manager at Rombourne, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jessie May to Kingston House and are very pleased they have chosen to base their office with us here in Swindon. We are very much looking forward to working with the Jessie May team.”

The new Swindon office address is Jessie May, Kingston House, Lydiard Fields, Swindon, SN5 8UB. The charity’s headquarters in Kingswood, Bristol, remains the same.
