Dr Who fans will have a treat this month as a new piece of drama explores the story of the musical phenomena that is the famous sci fi TV programme’s theme tune.
Swindon’s Shoebox Theatre in Theatre Square welcomes the Noctium Theatre as they present Hymns For Robots on Friday, November 9 and Saturday, 10 from 7.30pm.
The performance features analogue and digital music, as the story of Delia Derbyshire, the trailblazer of electronic music and composer of the Dr Who tune, is told through a sonic experience of strange sounds and weird wobbulations.
Delia is played by Jessie Collier and Brian Hodgson by Charles Creggs who also takes care of the musical direction. The overall show is under the guiding hand of director Connor Alexander.
Hymns For Robots is suitable for those aged 14 plus and tickets are £10 from www.shoeboxtheatre.org.uk/whatson
