STEAM museum will mark the festive period by opening its doors to a winter wonderland.

Next month more than 50 Christmas market stalls will be set amidst the attraction’s displays and famous GWR locomotives.

Hand-crafted silver jewellery, photographic prints, glassware and home furnishings are all on offer, along with Christmas decorations, wooden toys and games, chutneys and confectionery.

Steam events officer Carolyn Lovett said: “We’re all set for this year’s event which is going to be full to the brim with festive things to see and do around the museum.

“We have many superb artisan market stalls that will be placed around the museum, so visitors get to experience the usual attractions as well as all the festivities.

“Santa is back with his story-time sessions which take place in a cosy fireside setting in a quiet area of the museum. We have live performances taking place throughout the weekend too, including Kentwood Choir and the Siren Sisters.

“This event is now well established as a very high quality and great value Christmas event and our market stalls are specially selected to offer our visitors a wide range of top quality craft and hand-made products.”

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to this very cheerful event that is sure to get people into the Christmas spirit.”

Entry costs £1 for children and £3 for adults. Tickets are available on the door.
