Three parachute jumpers from the Royal British Legion braved strong winds to land at a Centenary tree planting on Saturday.
The team of parachutists made the lucky jump on Dorcan playing field as families finished planting around fifty trees to create a Centenary forest.
Team leader Vance Allen reported strong winds of up to 30pmh as they left the aircraft but all managed to land safely.
The trio were trailing red smoke behind them as they quickly descended to ground with parachutes emblazoned with red poppies.
The tree planting was organised by Stratton St Margaret Parish Council to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War and improve the local ecology of the area.
