COURT: A former Swindon nightclub boss was spared jail after admitting using another’s bank card to make a booking for a laser quest game.
Jason Ranford, who once managed the Brunel Rooms, pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation when he appeared before Manchester magistrates. He used another person’s credit card to make a booking at Laser Quest.
The 32-year-old, now of Greengate, Salford, was given a 16 week suspended jail sentence. He must pay £85 costs, a £115 victim surcharge and £161.89 in compensation.
The case was originally due to be heard at Swindon Magistrates’ Court in August, but was moved to be heard closer to Ranford's new home in Salford.
Ranford, previously of Hinton Pava, near Swindon, has previous convictions for driving a stretch limousine without a licence, driving while disqualified, fraud, criminal damage and threatening violence.
