CHARITIES and good causes have been asked to apply to be next year’s Old Town Festival charity partners.

This year, the summer festival raised over £500 for Brighter Futures and the Swindon branch of Parkinson’s UK.

Sarah Church, chairman of the Old Town Festival committee, said: “While next summer may seem like an age away on these cold autumn nights, our volunteer committee is already hard at work planning for an even bigger and better 2019 Old Town Festival.

“It was fantastic to raise hundreds of pounds for Brighter Futures and the Swindon Branch of Parkinson’s UK this year, and we are keen to support more local charities in 2019.

"We will announce our new charity partners in January. We look forward to working with them as we build up to the start of the Festival on June 9, 2019.”

Old Town Festival has been running since 1991. Every year the festival takes over the Lawns and hosts a music concert in the Town Gardens Bowl.

The deadline for applications is December 14. Applications must be emailed to Denise Rogers: deniserogersdanceschool@gmail.com.

The charity partners will be announced in January next year.
