PLANS showing the outline proposals for the Lotmead Villages development will go on public display for the first time this month.

The New Eastern Villages is currently the UK's largest urban building project and includes plans to build around 2,600 homes, two primary schools, village centres, and sports hub on land around Lotmead, South Marston, Rowborough, and Foxbridge.

Since the last consultation on the Lotmead Villages site, Swindon Borough Council has adopted its local plan, and a number of planning proposals have come forward on land within the New Eastern Villages.

The council has been in talks with ASL development, the company behind the plans, to ensure the appropriate infrastructure needs are met and is asking for the public to give its feedback.

John Brooks, planning director at ASL, said: “The development of the New Eastern Villages is very important in enabling the future growth and prosperity of Swindon. We hope that many residents and representatives of local businesses will join us, and take the time to talk with the team members at the exhibition, ask them questions and complete a feedback form to let us know their comments.

“The feedback we receive on the proposals for the new Lotmead Villages is important to us and will influence the outline planning application we will be submitting."

The public exhibition will be at Hooper’s Field, Wanborough, on Wednesday 28th November between 3pm and 7.30pm.
