STAFF at an Old Town shop have raised more than £13,000 for the NSPCC over the past decade.
Magnum Wine in Wood Street has been hosting wine tastings at least once a year since 2009.
Earlier this month the connoisseurs hosted this year’s fundraiser in which people were welcomed with a glass of champagne and the event raised £800.
Owner Brian Saunders said: “We have a long history of association with the NSPCC. We are proud to be able to help them and their team. Drinking for charity is a fabulous idea, and it is for a fabulous cause.
“We have been holding these events for over 10 years now, so we are extremely happy with the amount we have raised on the night which is a great total.”
During their time at the store, guests tasted three white and red wines before finishing off with port and cheese.
The event raised over the funds through volunteers selling tickets, priced at £15 per person which covers wine and nibbles.
Magnum sponsored the wine and staff gave up their time and expertise to those who attended.
Caroline Morgan, NSPCC community fundraising manager, said: “We are extremely grateful to Magnum Wine for hosting the latest NSPCC wine taste. This is the way to do it - turn what you like doing into a fundraising event.
“Everyone who attended had a good time and the money raised will help us continue to run vital children’s services in Swindon.”
Caroline thanked the staff and the volunteers who made the event possible.
