VINTAGE fashion lovers enjoyed a day of dancing, tea-drinking and shopping.

Lou-Lou’s Vintage fashion fair returned to the Steam Museum on Sunday, bringing scores of retro clothing fanciers to try on styles dating from the early 20th century.

Rachel Leonard, owner of Gorse Hill-based salon Vintage Victory Rollers, spent the day doing makeovers for shoppers.

“We did one for a lady who’s planning on getting married next year,” she said. “Her husband is in the RAF and really into the vintage look.

“There was a good turnout. We were based right next to the tea rooms and there was a chance for a bit of people watching.”

Rachel set up Vintage Victory Rollers in 2012, but has been a follower of 1950s fashion for two decades.

She said of the ongoing appeal of vintage fashion: “I think it’s very elegant. A lot of people are doing vintage fashion with their own twist, incorporating styles from different eras and mixing them up.”
