Door damaged

COURT: Magistrates ordered a man to undergo a building better relationships programme after he pleaded guilty to causing more than £600 of damage to a door belonging to Swindon Borough Council.

John McKellar, 30, of Chickerell Park, Weymouth, also admitted breaching a non-molestation order by contacting a woman.

He was made the subject of a two-year community order by the Swindon bench and instructed to pay £615 compensation to the council.

Money was taken

COURT: A woman who stole £40 from a male victim was ordered to repay it.

Michelle Parkes, 41, who gave a care of address in Estella Close, pleaded guilty to taking the money.

Swindon magistrates granted her a six-month conditional discharge.

Cement stolen

COURT: Thief Benjamin Stevens was ordered to pay a total of £284 when he admitted a series of thefts from shops.

The 30-year-old, of Whitworth Road, took cement and bags of sand from B&Q worth more than £180 over the space of two days in June.

He also admitted a charge of failing to surrender to the court.

Swindon magistrates fined him £100 and instructed him to pay £184 compensation.

No order was made for costs because of his lack of means.
