Sheila Harrod and her Kentwood Show Choir and guests, Aldbourne Band and Kim Cypher, took to the Wyvern Stage for the annual Christmas Cracker.

A packed audience enjoyed singing carols, along with the band, under the direction of guest conductor Christopher King. Sheila’s choir once again gave their all to start our Christmas with wonderful singing, great costumes and some stunning numbers that left me awe struck by the difficulty of the piece’s. All of which were sung with ease. We were introduced to one of the hearing dogs from Sheila’s charity for this year.

I loved the video from the lovely Clary Bean in remembrance of his talented wife Christinewho sadly passed away before Christmas last year. I loved the song Clary wrote and hearing him sing.

Kim Cypher is undoubtedly another talented lady. The saxophonist and singer simply sparkled during her time on stage. Her You Tube video was shown, with the Kentwood ladies joining her in the video.

This was another Kentwood show that everyone will have had their favourite song or band number. Most will say they loved it all. All our Christmas’ started here. As always. By Roz Hollands.

  • The performance had to be stopped when a member of the audience had an angina attack and paramedics had to be called. Sheila said: “I was gutted as we had the whole 20 minute finale to perform and the kids had not even come on yet, but our audience were terrific. I wish them all a Merry Christmas.’’
