Should there be more electric vehicle charging points in Swindon? If so, where should they be?

Those are the questions Swindon Borough Council is asking of residents in a short online survey

Councillor Oliver Donachie, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Prosperity, said: “By having more electric vehicles on our roads it would also help to reduce emissions. But we need to ensure we make it as easy as possible for people to choose these environmentally vehicles and ensuring we have the right number of charging points, in the right places, is an important step.”

Councillor Maureen Penny, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways and the Environment, said: “If we know where people would like to see these charging points it will help to shape future planning applications and will contribute to the Council’s Vision and priority of creating a low-carbon economy.
