FAMILIES can look forward to a magical Harry Potter-themed Christmas event in Stratton St Margaret on Friday.
The parish council's Christmas Extravaganza returns to Grange Leisure with a wizarding world full of festive fun.
Polyjuice Potion and Butterbeer will be served in the Grange, a Hedwig-esque owl will perch in the children's Christmas craft section, and Swindon businesses will set up shop in a Hogsmeade-style craft fair to showcase great gift ideas.
Kids can meet Santa in his grotto, see Rudolph and Prancer outside the leisure centre, listen to Christmassy choirs. or donate to the chairman's charity, Swindon Young Carers. The event lasts from 12pm to 5pm.
Next week, the parish's popular Community Christmas Carols service will be held by the Stratton Peace Memorial on Thursday December 13 at 6pm.
Singers are encouraged to wear Christmas jumpers and join in with the Songbirds group, then pop over to the Grange to enjoy mulled wine and mince pies.
