LITTLE star Maisie Sly will be recognised by the Prime Minister at Downing Street's Christmas lights switch-on later today for raising awareness of the issues facing young deaf people.
The deaf seven-year-old star of Oscar-winning short film The Silent Child has won a Points of Light award which recognises outstanding people who make a difference and inspire others in their community.
Maisie also teaches sign language to pupils in her school, Red Oaks, who do not have hearing problems so that they can all communicate with each other.
She will meet Theresa May at Number 10 this evening.
More to follow.
