The new manager at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Swindon is Santiago Monteiro, a familiar face in the hotel business in the town.
Santiago has been in Swindon for seven years and before coming to the Hilton he worked at the Marriott Hotel in Swindon.
He joined up with his former boss from the Marriott, Adam Flint, who came to the Hilton as the general manager a couple of years ago.
Santi and his family came to Swindon from Goa in India and Santi also worked in the Grand Cayman in the Caribbean in the hotel industry.
“Swindon is our home now although it is my ambition to be a general manager of my hotel in the near future,” he said.
“Adam was my general manager at the Marriott and I learned a lot from him. When he became general manager at the Double Tree I jumped at the opportunity to team up with him again. We also have a number of other members of staff at the Hilton from the Marriott.
“The Hilton is the biggest hotel in Swindon and we want to make sure that it is the best hotel in town as well. We have a lot of work to do and it is an exciting time to be working here.”
Adam still works at the hotel but has taken on another role as well as the Swindon one. He is also general manager of the Double Tree Hilton in Kingston.
Santi hosted the bi monthly business meeting at the Double Tree when the guests were Gemma George, the centre manager of Fig Offices; Peter Davison, Secret Agent marketing; Alison Harris of Miss AM; Emma Richards, director of sales at the Double Tree and Flicky Harrison, of Flicks Video productions and Swindon Advertiser journalist.
