POLICE pulled over a Pinehurst teenager at the wheel of a car held together with rope after he drove past their headquarters.

The 15-year-old had driven all the way from Swindon when he passed the Wiltshire Police base 20 miles away at Devizes.

Officers spotted the silver Ford KA had rope around one of the wings and stopped it, only to discover the boy from Pinehurst at the wheel.

He appeared before Swindon Youth Court this week and pleaded guilty to driving without a licence or insurance on July 8.

The bench fined him £100 with six penalty points. He was also instructed to pay £105 in court costs.
