A ROCK 'n' Roll bingo held in memory of a keen-runner has raised more than £1,600 for Prospect Hospice.

Friends of Paul Gee, who was cared for by the hospice in Wroughton before he died in August, held the bingo night at the Redhouse Club in Purton, raising £1656.71 for the charity.

Organisers who were friends of Paul, Suki and Vicky, along with Jan and Shannon, Paul’s wife and daughter, said that they had a fantastic evening and was overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity.

They mentioned that the support from everyone, including prizes donated by Run Swindon, was a true reflection of how much Paul meant to everyone and how well loved and respected he was.

They would like to thank Redhouse Club in Purton for their support and offering the use of their facilities, to Suki’s mum who made Indian style snacks to sell, to all local businesses and everyone who provided raffle prizes, including Paul’s local pub, the Jovial Monk.

Jan, Paul’s wife mentioned that the family would like to thank everyone at Prospect Hospice for the treatment and care Paul received at the hospice. “It was outstanding” she said.

Community fundraiser Hollie Ricketts added: “On behalf of Prospect Hospice I would like to thank everyone who helped to organise the event, support it or attended on the night.”
