POLICE cadets slept under the stars with Wiltshire Police’s two most senior chiefs to raise money for three homeless charities over the weekend.
More than 45 youngsters aged from 13 to 17 made their beds for the night outside Wiltshire Police’s headquarters in Devizes.
They were joined by police and crime commissioner for Wiltshire Angus Macpherson, and Kier Pritchard, the newly-appointed chief constable, for what turned out to be a cold and wet night.
The sleepout managed to raise more than £3,000 for various homeless charities across the county.
The charities included Threshold Housing Link Swindon, Wiltshire-based Alabare UK, which provides accommodation to young people and homeless veterans, and the Doorway Project, a drop-in centre in Chippenham for vulnerable and homeless adults.
Lisa Lewis, CEO of the Doorway Project, said: “Look how miserable they all looked after, I’m not surprised - it was a cold and wet night. Massive well done to everyone that took part and thank you!”
