POLICE are warning garage owners in Highworth and its surrounding area to be extra vigilant after a series of break-ins.
Overnight between December 1 and 2, a number of detached garages were broken into and items were stolen.
This included a group of garages in the Sevenfields area of the town. Amongst the items stolen were a blue and white Giant mountain bike, a white cordless drill, two unnamed mountain bikes and some number plates.
In most cases, the garages were detached from a house and the locks were forced by unknown means.
PC Angela Holden said: "We would urge garage owners - whether the building is detached or not from your home - to be extra vigilant and to check you have adequate security in place.
"We will be carrying out targeted patrols on all blocks of garages within Highworth and the surrounding rural villages, however, we need your help; if you hear or see anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously then please contact us on 101."
Alternatively, call anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
