THE Health Hydro will become the new home of the Shoebox Theatre next year.

The theatre will relocate from Theatre Square to the historic Milton Road building in January, with room for an office, dressing rooms, a studio theatre and a box office in the space which originally housed a Victorian laundry.

The extra space available will allow the company to host extra classes, including drama classes for youngsters aged four and up, plus a new theatre company for young people.

A spokesperson for the Shoebox Theatre said: "It's a beautiful building and cosy new home for us.

"A new home means we can do even more amazing, creative things and we want you to come and join us

"The Shoebox Theatre will still be hosting captivating performances by contemporary theatre companies from near and far, as well as creating our own productions for touring.

"We can’t wait to hang out with you all at the new Shoebox Theatre in 2019."

The Elves and the Shoemaker will still be taking place in Theatre Square, but all future classes and events will be moved over to the Health Hydro.
