Firefighters from across Swindon were sent to a series of false alarms overnight.
'Car fire' near Sainsbury's
STRATTON: Crews from Swindon and Stratton fire stations were sent to reports of a car on fire near Sainsbury’s, Oxford Road, shortly after 8.20pm on Christmas Eve.
“This was found to be a false alarm caused by oil in the engine bay,” Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
Carbon monoxide alarm
BLUNSDON: Shortly before midnight, someone called 999 after their carbon monoxide alarm kept sounding.
A crew from Stratton was sent to the call on Wirral Way. It was found to be a false alarm.
System fault
RODBOURNE: A 999 caller reported a fire alarm sounding at a home on Scarborough Road at 1.25am on Christmas Day.
When Swindon and Westlea firefighters were sent to investigate, they found that a system fault had caused the alarm.
