A GROUP of intrepid swimmers will take to the water on Boxing Day and they want you to come and dip your toe in the water – literally.

Around 40 members of the Cotswold Open Water Swimmers group are expected to take a chilly dip in Lake 32 at the Cotswold Water Park tomorrow at 9am.

The group’s Jennie Harwood issued an open invitation to people out for an early Boxing Day walk to join them by the water.

“We don’t want people to come along and swim, so much as stick their toe in the water and see what it’s like,” she said.

The water temperature on Boxing Day is likely to be around four or five degrees.

Jennie added: “We’re hardcore open water swimmers. But when the temperature of the water dips below 10C, that’s when it becomes a challenge.”

The swimmers will be raising money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance at the swim.
