BUDGET Christmas plans may have to be given the chop by celebrity martial arts expert Matt Fiddes after his wife Moniqe went into labour with the couple’s third child.

They had planned to spend Christmas on a modest budget, forking out £40 for dinner and £50 on presents for each child, following a life-changing experience on TV show Rich House, Poor House earlier in the year. Matt, who once spent £20,000 on Christmas presents, swapped his mansion near Swindon for a week in a council house in Southampton in the Channel 5 show.

But the budget festivities have been put on hold by the arrival of baby Mayella on Christmas Eve.

The girl was born shortly before 5pm on December 24 at Great Western Hospital, weighing an impressive 8lb8oz and blessed with a strong grip and fierce kick.

Matt, 39, who worked as pop star Michael Jackson’s bodyguard before setting up his chain of martial arts schools, said: “I’ve already posted it on my Instagram that she was going to be a future black belt.”

Named in part after Matt’s mother, Majella, who died in 2012 after a breast cancer fight, baby Mayella’s unusual name is also a nod to her parents. Matt and Moniqe were both born in May and got engaged in the month.

The couple already have two sons, while Matt has three daughters from a previous relationship.

Moniqe, 25, said her older son, five, was already besotted with his new sister: “They’ve not met yet, but we spoke on Facetime. He’s promised his grandparents she can play with all his toys.”

And martial arts expert Matt praised the midwives and doctors at GWH: “The staff here been top notch. You couldn’t fault them.”
