PLANS for a new caravan park in Highworth will be discussed at the town council's first meeting of 2019.
An application to change the Copse on Pentylands Lane from equestrian land into a caravan park is on the agenda, as is a proposal to build a single-storey building and a 2.3m-high boundary fence at Southfield Junior School.
The public will be able to speak briefly at the meeting - but only if they have submitted either of the applications on the agenda.
Councillors will also draft a letter to an MP about the Highworth Neighbourhood Plan.
The planning meeting begins on Wednesday January 9 at 7pm in the council offices on Gilberts Lane.
Though usually held on a Tuesday, it's been postponed to the next day so that town councillors can attend a Swindon planning committee discussion on the fate of the proposed new Aldi.
The Highworth planning meeting will be immediately followed by the first entertainment and leisure meeting of the year.
The permanent siting of the two 'Tommy' soldier figures from There But Not There, which were used during the Remembrance Day commemorations at the Podium last November will be decided.
Also on the agenda are discussions about Danters Fair, this year's fireworks display, and a Buckingham Palace garden party.
