After damaged cashboxes at parking machines at Coate Water Park were replaced, would-be thieves had a go at them again, it was revealed by Coun Keith Williams, Swindon Borough Council's cabinet member for corporate and customer relations.
Coun Williams told the scrutiny committee that just weeks after the new boxes had been put in they showed signs of damage again.
He said: "There's not that much you can do to protect against a man who shows up with an angle grinder.
"There is CCTV but the issue is the quality of the pictures and the size of the park it has to cover."
Coun Williams said the authority was thinking about installing cashless parking at the popular attraction, where people paid by card or via an app on a smartphone.
Concern was expressed this could exclude teenagers and the elderly
