THE finishing touches for a renovated McDonald's at Greenbridge have been recommended for approval by Stratton St Margaret parish councillors.
New digital signage, menu boards, order displays, canopies, height restrictors were proposed for the new extension and shopfront at the fast food chain branch.
Councillors also recommended that an application for 19 houses to be built on the former site of Hertz Rent a Car on Ermin Street should be refused.
Coun Stuart Leach, chair of the parish council's planning committee, noted that the number of proposed dwellings for the site had increased each time an application had been submitted- from 12 to 14 to 19.
The original objections to the previous applications for the Hertz site involved concerns over overdevelopment and traffic impact.
These concerns have been exacerbated by the applicant's decision to bump up the number of houses they want to build.
Swindon Borough Council's planning committee will take these recommendations into account before giving the final thumbs up or down to each application at a future meeting.
