FIREFIGHTERS were called to make sure a heater fire had not spread beneath the floorboards of a Pinehurst home.
Crews from Drove Road fire station were sent shortly after 10pm on Thursday nights, after a 999 call reporting a heater fire in a house on Tedder Close, off Montgomery Avenue.

Although the caller said the fire had been extingushed, the Swindon crew was sent to check the blaze had not spread under the floor.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The crew did a full inspection and confirmed that the fire was out and there was no risk."
